Happy Birthday

So we just celebrated my 25th birthday, and I truly do not feel any different. I can say though that I do feel OLDER than 25. I wonder if this is what happens to everyone once they have children. Do you always feel older than you truly are? Just wondering. But back to my b-day, Scott spoiled me all weekend. I spent my time with him and Tucker which was all I wanted to do.

SO it wasn't the big deal that everyone made it out to be. I am a quarter of a century. Woo hoo....

Personal Assistant Wanted....

I have decided I am in need of a personal assistant. I feel like between my job, raising Tucker, keeping house, and being a wife to Scott, I am without a moment to rest. I am not going to lie and say I don't rest because I surely do procrastinate at time. I am just going crazy with the amount of things piling up in front of me to do. This week alone I had to hire a new babysitter, rework our schedule for programs at my job, develop two new programs to run at the club, reroute our volunteers and their schedules, work on our Worldwide Day of Play event for next Saturday, try to hunt down what happened to my shoes for Clarissa's wedding (the dress store can't find them), and so much more. So if anyone is wanting to be my personal assistant, let me know. It is a job that doesn't pay anything, but does allow you the satisfaction of knowing that you have made my life easier.

Been gone way too long...

So I gave up on this blog after May 2009. I am going to blame that on my job I started this summer with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Lee County. I did enjoy doing this blog though. I received a lot of comments on it through Facebook. So I will try to keep it up in the future.

Just to do a quick update on the family. Scott is the manager of Momma Goldberg's in Auburn. I am the Education Director & Program Coordinator for the Boys & Girls Club. Tucker is now 20 months old and already trying to give me a heart attack by going to the ER nonstop with accidents. I still love him to death though. Scott and I are working on maybe having a little girl in the future, but God will give it to us when he is ready. So I guess that is it. Hope this blog finds everyone doing well.

Angels & Demons

We went to see Angels & Demons on Friday. It was AMAZING! The director, Ron Howard and the screenwriter, David Koepp, did an amazing job keeping the movie close to the book. I am not usually into movies that have a conspiracy theory plot, but this one kept my attention. It is a bit controversial because the conspiracy theory involves the Vatican and the Catholic religion. But if you take the movie as what it was meant to be, a fictional piece, then it is an interesting piece of work. So everyone go on out and watch the movie! Plus it has my man EWAN MCGREGOR!!

Happy Mother's Day!!!

A Newborn's Conversation with God

A baby asked God, "They tell me you are sending me to earth tomorrow,
but how am I going to live there being so small and helpless?"

God said, "Your angel will be waiting for you and will take care of you."

The child further inquired, "But tell me, here in heaven I don't have
to do anything but sing and smile to be happy."

God said, "Your angel will sing for you and will also smile for you.
And you will feel your angel's love and be very happy."

Again the small child asked, "And how am I going to be able to understand
when people talk to me if I don't know the language?"

God said, "Your angel will tell you the most beautiful and sweet words
you will ever hear, and with much patience and care, your angel will
teach you how to speak."

"And what am I going to do when I want to talk to you?"

God said, "Your angel will place your hands together and will teach
you how to pray."

"Who will protect me?"

God said, "Your angel will defend you even if it means risking its life."

"But I will always be sad because I will not see you anymore."

God said, "Your angel will always talk to you about Me and will teach
you the way to come back to Me, even though I will always be next to you."

At that moment there was much peace in Heaven, but voices from Earth
could be heard and the child hurriedly asked, "God, if I am to leave
now, please tell me my angel's name."

God said, You will simply call her, "Mom."

I thought this was a great Mother's Day story. Happy Mother's Day to all the mom's out there; whether you are a mom biologically, through adoption, or through being there emotionally for someone, I wish you a blessed day!

We are going to the movies!

Sorry guys, I haven't blogged in a while once again. Life has been really hectic in some senses, but not so much that I had anything to blog about. So in the interest of keeping this blog going I thought I would do a random post about the great movies that are coming out this year. I have them listed below in no particular order of favoritism.
  1. Angels & Demons
  2. New Moon
  3. Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince
  4. X-Men Origins: Wolverine
  5. Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen
  6. Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs
  7. Saw VI
Well I guess that is it! I am not much of a theater goer. I prefer to wait until it is released on DVD, but I will be attending the theater for all of these movies. If you want, send me some suggestions of anything else good that is coming out!

So I haven't blogged in a REALLY long time, and the reason for this is I just discovered the Twilight Saga. If you have read these books you can totally understand the addictive behavior that follows once you start reading them. I can totally understand the appeal to the typical teenage girl because all of them hope to find a guy like Edward, but as an adult my draw to them is the complete and utter suspense at every turn in the story. Stephanie Meyer is absolutely my favorite author now! She can really put you into a different world with each adjective and plot twist.

I have gone a couple of sleepless nights lately just to finish these books and now I want more! Thankfully, Scott is reading them now and he will soon be finished and we can have a discussion about the series. That is my favorite part about reading a book, being able to discuss it with someone (especially Scott). So my suggestion is for everyone to go out and read these books. They are truly on a different level. Contact me if you want to have a small book club discussion!

I promised to get a photo of our new family member up real quick, so here it is. This is Bella, and she is the sweetest dog in the world!!

New Puppy

So we have a new member of the Lusk-Wallace Family. My mom got Tucker a 4 month old female Dachshund that we have named Bella! She is so great! Tucker and her have been running around the backyard playing nonstop. Today we took her to Kiesel Park and allowed her to become acquainted with other dogs. Our friends Matt and Joelle joined us with their two dogs, Buster and Kiwi. Well, Bella was not to pleased with the other dogs at first. She gets along with people better than dogs, but eventually she warmed up with all of our help. We had a great time, and I am just so thankful for Tucker to have a friend. I will put a picture of her up real soon.

Disappointment

I am just writing this to vent and I am going to be really vague about details because I don't want any assumptions made about people. I found today to be a really disappointing one. I have been totally side swiped by someone that I thought was a better person. This person exhibited very childish behavior and just seems to be completely against me despite the fact I did nothing to them. I guess I am just upset because I thought things were better than they are and this person is just picking at a scab and ripping the wound open. I have tried to just not say anything and stir stuff up, but this never stops. I hope this ends and I can move on with my life. I am just going to continue to pray for peace on both sides.

Prayers for my brother

Just wanted to ask for prayers for my brother. He is in the hospital with a rather large blood clot in his arm. They do not know what is causing the blood clot and others to show up. He is on 2 different types of blood thinners and his blood is still thick. They are unsure how all of this is happening and until it is under control, he must remain in the hospital. So if you read this blog and get the chance, pray for his recovery!

Am I crazy or not?

So I am recovering from a bout of the flu and I had to send my sweet Tucker to stay with Scott's parents. I thought, "Finally, I get to sleep!" Then about 2 hours after he was gone the loneliness set in. I totally miss my little man now. I never knew being a parent would be like this. One moment you are about to pull your hair out and run out the door. Then the next moment you can't live without the child for one minute! I now understand how having children can make you feel like you are going crazy.

Thank Heavens for small blessings...

I just had to post this picture of my sweet baby Tucker. He stole my sunglasses and just popped them right on his head!! Boy, did it make me smile and laugh. It definitely made me think, "Thank Heavens for small blessings..."

Typical Weekend

So we had a pretty good weekend here at the Lusk-Wallace house. We spent Valentine's Day together as a family. It was actually nice to spend the day celebrating our love as a family rather than just as a couple. We finished the weekend off with watching the new movie "Fireproof." This is a REALLY AMAZING movie. I love that it has a Christian background. If you are not Christian, don't worry. The core to the movie is all about having a stronger marriage! So I recommend everyone watching this movie and thinking about how it can apply to your marriage or relationship. Well I guess that is it for now. Happy Valentine's weekend everyone!

Okay I am going to get on my soap box...

So today I am watching a TV show and they mentioned this website called ashleymadison.com, which is a dating website for people who are married and want to have an affair. I have a few thoughts on this.
  1. First, I am HORRIFIED by the thought of people cheating on each other (Married or Not)!
  2. Second, I am HORRIFIED by the idea that there is an actual website that encourages this with the slogan "Life is short. Have an affair."
  3. Third, I cannot believe that this would even be on TV, because all that is doing is highlighting this website and thrusting it into the spotlight.
  4. Fourth, what is this world coming to when this is actually okay? It was mentioned on the talk show that this is healthy because people aren't repressing their urges! I am a psychology major and I understand that you shouldn't repress urges, but if you are married and don't want to be in that relationship, GET A DIVORCE!!!
  5. Fifth, how stupid are these people on this website? You put your picture and your information on this site. Eventually, someone you know is going to find out about it. Whether it is your spouse checking your internet history or someone seeing you on the site.
I will step down off my soap box with this last thought. I am saddened by this display of immoral behavior, and I only hope that we, the human race, see what this kind of mess is doing to us. God be with us and help those in need.

Thank you

We just wanted to write a blog thanking the friends, family, and co-workers that have been there for us during this time of loss. We are saddened to have had another miscarriage, but we know that things will work out for us in the future. So please keep praying for God to continue to guide us and keep us on the path of seeking him and his plan. Thank you very much to those who have been supportive and we love you!

First Blog

Okay, so everyone is getting into this blogging thing. I think it is a great way to keep up with each others' everyday lives. SO anyway I thought I would start a blog for Scott, Tucker and I. Right now I am just going to say this blog is "UNDER CONSTRUCTION."
